An Open-Letter to Janet Napoles – Pork Barrel Scam

remate.ph janet napoles

Dear Janet,

At pipilitin mong magkagulo.

May oras at araw kayo.

Ang mahuli at maparusahan ka kasama ng iyong minions will make this world a better place.

Joselito D. Delos Reyes

Tawanan Time: Sampung Prutas (10 Fruits)

•10/11/2012 • Leave a Comment

Hahahahaha 😀 😀 😀  😀 😀

3 Simple Steps To Lower Uric Acid Levels Naturally

•08/26/2012 • 2 Comments

(1) Drink between 2 and 3 liters of water everyday. Drink small amounts regularly throughout the day. Water helps the kidneys to process and flush uric acid out of the body.

(2) Consume a baking soda solution to help dissolve uric acid crystals, and, increase uric

acid solubility. Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to 8 oz of water. Mix thoroughly, and drink maximum 8 glasses daily. One before bedtime, one when you get up in the morning, and one every 2 to 4 hours between meals. Repeat until the symptoms have gone.

[Note: Since baking soda is high in sodium, change to a salt-free diet whilst taking this remedy. And, if you suffer from high blood pressure, although you can take it as long as you monitor your blood pressure closely, it’s better not to use this remedy at all.]

(3) Change to a low purine diet. Since uric acid comes from the breakdown of purines, and, purines also exist in our foods, a gout sufferer needs to go onto a diet that is relatively low in purines. This also means avoiding high purine foods completely…

The general types of food to avoid are fatty red meats, offal, poultry and some seafood. And, it’s important to avoid alcohol. Beer, in particular, is a trigger for gout.

The types of foods that make up a low purine diet are things like; essential fatty acids (e.g. tuna, salmon, etc.), low-fat dairy products, complex carbohydrates (e.g. bread, cereal, pasta, rice, vegetables, fruit, etc.), fruits such as cherries, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, etc.

These are three of the most effective natural ways to reduce uric acid levels. Try them if you’ve got gout just now and see how they work for you…

Remember diet is first remedy. Protein are building block after age of 30 body start aging so decrease amount of protein & take vegetables. When it increase above 6 consist while maintaining diet you can go for homeopathic medicine as long-term high level lead to kidney or gall bladder stones.

August 22 is Pao – Lou’s 9th Love Anniversary!

•08/22/2012 • 1 Comment

Charot! Yown na! Ola chika! Mabuhay! Gotta run!

Yours Truly, My daughter Rhian Pauleen, My Son Paul Jacob and My Dear Andrea Lou.

CSS Basketball Season 5

Last Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:02pm

Circulo Verde

“T.M.M.S. escaped DirectPass with Justin’s end-game heroics; Longevity and Smart Surfing on a shocker; Rookies flew on the Opening Day!” Trend Micro Mobile Security (T.M.M.S.) escaped with Justin’s end-game heroics, “Hi Angelicar Peralta!” He finished  with 11 points (including one triple) and 4 shy rebounds, enough to lift the green shirt on a come-from-behind win against the Milky Whites. I swear if I can go back to my childhood days, I will eat a lot of Star Margarine and drink a lot of Growee. TMMS vs. DirectPass looked like a Senior vs. Midget game.

I can’t help but smile whenever I remember the “Yokozuna brothers” of T.M.M.S. dismantling the helpless frontliners of DirectPass. It was like a Volkswagen crashing into a 4×4 Wheeler Truck! Do you see the difference? It was a “David and Goliath‘s Fight” but this time Goliath took advantage of his size and did not wait for David to throw the stone – he just jump straight to David and wrestled him!I still remember a play where Mark “Half-Man, Half-Bulldozer” Beloy (16 points, 10 rebounds and 1 steal) was being double-teamed by the look-alikes, Ronan “Evan-like” Tonilon (17 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal) and Evan “Ronan-like” Salvatierra (Scoreless with 1 rebound and 1 steal), Beloy still looked bigger than the two of them combined! It was like a statement game for him, “Marami pa kayong kakaining bigas… para magka-ABS!” It was also a revelation day for Justin “Hi I’m Justin and you’re…?” (like the Close-Up Commercial) Delos Santos.

Inspired game by the rookie as he made an excellent play of inbounding the ball, 16 seconds remaining on the game clock and then a backdoor-cut-layup on a three-point play to seal the deal. I bet an “Angel” guided you that day! J Meanwhile, Carlo “Patay ang butiki” Gomez shot a foul throw hitting only the top backboard of the hoop. “Awkward…” It was a moment where everyone was silent for a second and then Walla!!!… All hell break loose!!!… Laughing!!! For me, Sir Carlo did that on purpose to send a message to T.M.M.S., “We will crunch you next time as I crunch this ball!!! BANGGG!!” Jerameel “Hari ng Sablay sa Freethrow” Bautista scored only 17 points with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal and Grei “The Big Ticket” Bona only had 4 points and 3 rebounds. The “Tan-Tan Boys”, Roberto Tan and Adrian Tan finished with 11 points combined. Score was 52 – 48 in favor of T.M.M.S.

One the second installment, Longevity upset the top seeded Trend Micro Mobile Backup and Restore. The shot selection of the ballers in blue spelled the difference. It was like they’re digging their own grave with a missed three-point shot one after another. Paolo “Pacman… Pacquiao!!!” Mercado (20 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist) had his moment when he walked gingerly to the defensive side of the court with a frustrated and disgusted look – I guess that face tells us the story of the game.
Longevity, on the other hand, was so cool and was soooo RED! I bet if a bull saw them, none of them will be alive by now! Jan “Like-a-Boss” Leonida (8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal) took us to school when he made couple of three-point shots and then “Yosi Break” during time-outs.
Wow, soooo cool!!! (That’s how you enjoy life! Hell yeah!!!) KR “Boy Tangkad” Nario (4 points and 4 rebounds) looked taller on his jersey. I swear, if you ask KR to raise his hands, his vertical reach looked like Miko Legaspi and Robin Palay’s height combined! “Ahuh!!” I was like… “Dafaq! That’s why he was picked first by Mikoloko… No wonder!” For the blue shirts, Bennett “The Director and Sponsor” Reyes (Scoreless with 5 rebounds) and Glenn “The Big Difference” Esquejo (7 points and 4 rebounds) will have to wait for two more grueling weeks absorbing the trash talks, after Tech-U of course, to avenged their lost while Miko (18 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assist and 4 steals) just had his 8-straight W’s going back to last season.

He is still undefeated from his rookie days up to date – his sophomore season (parang Mayweather lang!) Vitto “Ang Tunay Mahina” Padre and Nicolo “The Slasher” De Jesus only registered 17 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal combined while Aldrin “Meralco Boy” Liwanag alone had 10 points and 4 rebounds in a high-percentage shooting performace. Score was 60 – 47 in favor of Longevity.

3rd serving was a close fight too! But the yellow shirts managed their lead on the last 4 minutes of the game. Ian “The Walking Dead” Nava (6 points and 5 rebounds, with extra smile on the bench), who by the way just changed his Profile Status from being “Single” to “In a Relationship” (Ang layo ng segway ko! Haha!) played a very inspired game.

He was like showing-off to someone even though he cannot walk straight. “Sino nga ulet kasama mo loverboy?“ Monroe “No Drama today – Just Do It” Paulino (8 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal) played a snatcher’s game, “Run for your life! Run, Run, Runaway baby!!!” (Was he still singing while playing?! Wooow…) Ralph “Pang Gulat” Golilat (24 points and 4 rebounds) shocked everyone with his intensity and hard work.

I would give him a perfect 10 if he had not missed 5-6 consecutive three-point markers. Meanwhile, Guardian’s TJ “The Foul Magnet” Tabaniag (Scoreless with 2 rebounds) managed to stay away from foul trouble.(FLASHBACK: If you still recall, he’s the ever famous guy last season who recorded 5 fouls on a single quarter. That’s right folks! It’s not even a quarter, It was less than a quarter! He treated Fouls like Points…) Racosas (19 points and 4 rebounds) and Ericson “Sipag lang at mahabang bangs ang puhunan” Fajardo (9 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal) had an awesome game but the turnovers killed the Men in Black.

I remember Ryan “Ang Nagbabalik” Alberto (member of the Birthday Squad – RED!) was screaming on the mic, “Subjective! Subjective!” every time Eric was on the foul line. Is basketball part of your PDP man?! “Oucchh!!!” Stephen “Bouncing Baby Boy” Fernandez (2 points 3 rebounds and 2 assist, with a magnificent commentator’s voice) “Ayos sa english accent boy!!!” had a costly error when he rebounded the ball and passed it to no one, less than a minute remaining… “Yun lang!“ Roie “Mr. Hussle“ Exconde added 4 points and 5 rebounds while Kris “3-point Master” Jocson fired 1 triple (3 points) and 1 rebound on his name. Score was 55 – 50 in favor of Smart Surfing.

Meanwhile, the Opening Ceremony was a blast! Monroe “No Drama” Paulino opened the day by a short speech followed by TJ “Mr. President” Tabaniag’s LONGGGGG “OATH OF SPORTSMANSHIP!” It was weird, I tell you… “It ate like 10 to 15 minutes of our time. Demmet!!!” Then the awarding of Best Muse with Miko “Ang Malanding Host” Legaspi and TJ “Ikaw na naman?!” Tabaniag.A repeat performance from Maricel Navarro and a very awkward “Q&A Portion” for Janna Lugtu. [Time Warp] Miko asked Janna, “Kung isa kang Sport… Pano?” (The hell!! How will you answer that?!) Good thing Janna was on a good mood, you’ll never know, Miko might be a chop-chop victim that day.

“Miko, did you see how Janna looked at you?” J Best Muse registered a whooping 1200+ Online Votes in just 24 hours. Could you imagine? Michelle “Girls with braces are HOT!” Ramos was the winner and was escorted by Trend Micro M.B.R. (Sky Blue) as the winner of Best in Uniform. Shoutout to MJ Leosala and Merck Osena for the pictures! “You guys ROCK!… and let’s go home!!!” – JerameelB

CSS Basketball Season 5 Preview – Power Rankings and Predictions

•06/28/2012 • Leave a Comment

After three months of preparation and endless meeting, Sports Committee launches its 5th season of the most awaited basketball tournament in Trend Micro… “The CSS Basketball League”. Six teams will be vying for the coveted championship and bragging rights to be named the 5th Champion Team in CSS Basketball League.

A lot of changes happened this year as half of the ballers went out of Consumer Support. New Bloods came in as the drafting day went berserk like playing the teenage game Pokemon, “I don’t know you but I CHOOSE YOU!!!”

A rumor of possible Rookie-MVP is circulating on the 4 corners of the floor. Two-time MVP and Champion Ramon “Caloy” Ocampo will not join this year’s tournament as he gave way to other players and created a more balanced lineup. We just wish you play this season Mon, how about next year?

One of the great improvements this season is we finally merge Work to Non-work. We decided to use the bundled programs as the team names – advertising the bundled programs as we support the program for AIM. Shout out to all the managers who supported us all the way with this initiative. We have “Trend Micro DirectPass”, “Trend Micro Mobile Backup and Restore”, “Trend Micro Mobile Security”, “Trend Micro SafeSync”, “Trend Micro Battery Longevity” and “Trend Micro Online Guardian”. We’re also able to secure Circulo Verde as the venue for our exciting and much awaited basketball tournament. As we promise a bigger and better league this season, let’s take a quick peek of the teams and predict the possible rankings. Brace yourself… “Trash Talk = ON!!!”

Trend Micro Mobile Backup and Restore (RANK 1)

Bannered by Vitto “Ang Tunay na Mahina” Padre and Nicolo “The Slasher” De Jesus, do we need to say more? An explosive backcourt combination for the team in blue. With the addition of Dexter “Furious” Lopez (a.k.a. James Harden) and Paolo “Pacman… Pacquiao!!!” Mercado, are we seeing a high scoring game for the blue squad? The team is also supported by our awesome managers – Glenn “The Big Difference” Esquejo, Willand “The Tower” Osabel and Bennett “The Director” Reyes. This team is dangerous on fast break and one of the noticeable factors is… Dam*! This team has great range! Raining 3’s in the house?!?

In addition to this prolific team are Mark “Let’s Go Home!” Leosala, Clerence “Nice Ass” Dimapilis and the first timers – Julius Pajarito, Trisstan Pedroso and Maverick Mallari, who will have their moniker in a few playing days.

The only thing lacking is a defensive player who can match-up well with the 6-footers of the other teams like Christian “The Walking Dead” Nava (because of his injury) and Mark “Half Man Half Bulldozer” Beloy.

Will this team live up to high expectations? Or will their “OKC-like” jersey jinx their way to the championship? How about the ball distribution – will that be a problem? And lastly, is this the year of BIG 3 (Glenn-Willand-Bennett)? Let us find out!

Trend Micro Mobile Security – T.M.M.S. (Rank 2)

“Height is might in basketball.” We’re predicting Rank 1 or 2 for T.M.M.S., depending on how you see the game. If we consider the shooting range of Team Mobile Backup & Restore – they have the advantage. On the other hand, if we consider the inside presence of T.M.M.S., we will see an early graduation for the team in blue (M.B.R.). – “Please do not forget to bring your Toga with you.”

Mark “Only Beloy Touches My Skin” Beloy, one of the undeniable twin towers of this league, will front this team. Averaging a double-double performance last season in points and rebounds, who can stop him? This behemoth will muscle his way around to fish for 3-point plays and ‘no-blood, no-foul’ like plays. He will be supported by Adrian “Mr. Heartthrob” Tan and will dictate the tempo for the team. Justin “Hi Angelicar Peralta!” Delos Santos will try to convince Angel with his awesome moves and slashing ability while Johnson “Johnson yata yan… tumatagaaaaaal!” Ronquillo will have his first ever appearance on the big stage.

Adding to this overloaded and overweight team are the flyweight Fyle “Downtown Bomber” Sildo, Joshua “Fun Run Boy” Tadena, Andrew “Pogi Number 2” Dinglasan, Allan “Kung Fu Panda” Pauco and few unknown rookies… Kenny Lee, Roberto Tan and Aldrin “Steady ka lang dyan parekoy” Reynosa.

With the known strength of the team – will they have enough gas until the finals? (and a possible dream finale with Team Blue?) Or will the size affect the team’s execution? Also, can Fyle “Downtown Bomber” Sildo shoot the lights out every game to open the middle? Let us see how everything goes for this team!

Trend Micro DirectPass (Rank 3)

Also known as the body-bumping team and is very popular for their choking heroics in the finals. “Uuhh, wooow… whatta shame!” J With most of the players from the old Arsenals lineup gone, Jerameel “JheBron” Bautista and Gerald “The Big Ticket” Bona will continue their losing ways, humbly speaking. They will defend their 2nd-place finish (pun intended) for the 3rd consecutive time. “GRANDSLAM!!! BODY-SLAM!!!” But ‘JheBron’ might get his first ever championship because the Miami Heat won this year’s NBA finals and LeBron James choked no more! Ahem!!

With the addition of the rookie sensations to complete the a.l.a. Miami Heat adventure – Ronan “Evan Salvatierra-like” Tonilon and Evan “Ronan Tonilon-like” Salvatierra – the look-alikes, will face the hardest facts to swallow about the team’s history and will try to salvage their dreams to become the first ever dynamic-duo rookies to win a CSS Basketball Championship (I bet Miko and Francis will argue on that! – Mr. Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Mr. Mythical 5!’ ) Jonathan “Rock of Ages” Capulong will regain his Starting-5 post as he mans the baseline in a depleted lineup.

They also have Danbar “Right Timing” Punsal, Carlo “The Man in the Middle” Gomez, Ebenizer “SuperPadua Returns” Padua, Jimson “Tabaching-ching-ching” Esquivel and the team’s surprise package – Kristian Averia and Norbert Benavidez. Surprise!!!

Will this be their 3rd straight finals appearance? Will the new found rookie sensations live up to the expectation? Will the awkward-looking body-bump continue? Let’s watch them as they unfold their story anew!

Trend Micro Online Guardian (Rank 4)

Time to shine for the top rookies last year – Francis “Ra Ra” Racosas and Erikson “Small Bigman” Fajardo as the sophomore-duo from last year’s “Finals Teams” join force to bring home the crown. The boys in black, a.k.a The Guardians, will capitalize in the 2 and 3 positions. They have a deep rotation on the wing in the presence of Timothy “Macho Gwapito” Tabaniag and Roie “Ex ni Conde” Exconde. Interestingly, they field-in a rookie from the draft to complete their Strong-5 to push their campaign this season. He is Arnold “Fear of the Unknown” Estacio. I’m not sure if someone from the team scouted this guy already but all we can say is… “You guys are cheaters!!! LOL!!”

These good-looking men (Which most of them are single and ready to mingle – Shoutout to all the muses! At patay kayo sa mg gf’s nyo!) will get support from the players last season. Familiarity of one’s basketball skills — that’s how they attacked the drafting this season. They tapped the services of Van “Baby Shaq” Razon, Roy “Chillax” Marasigan, Stephen “Quality Minutes” Fernandez and Princely “The Rapper” Usbal. Mark Garcia was their last pick but not to take away anything from this guy, he might be the spark plug these boys are waiting for. On the other hand, Andrew “The Newest Hunk” Valle was on their roster but not sure if he’ll be able to play every week. Hope he will.

Will the familiarity of talents work in their favor? Can Francis “Ra Ra” Racosas (2nd leading scorer of Baskills last year) and Erikson “Small Bigman” Fajardo (2nd leading scorer of TMBball last year also) step up and dominate the highly-favored teams? Let us see if they can be this year’s giant killers.

Trend Micro Battery Longevity (Rank 5)

“B.F.F.” or what gay men define as “Best-Friends-For-Life”, an Arsenal Team in the making, Michael “The Dancing Loverboy” Legaspi chose to draft his close friends more than anyone else. Bound by his vision in life, “I want to play with my love ones especially Lewis Lizano cheering for me!” Inspired by Baskills 1st place finish last year, the team in Valentine Red will try to finish the season in a heart-warming passion.

This team has the 2nd biggest line-up with K.R. “Boy Tangkad” Nario protecting the shaded lane. Adding to the team’s size are Ryan “The Versatile” Alberto, Jan “Ako Budoy” Leonida (Gerald Anderson look-alike) and Aldrin “Long Hair No More” Liwanag.

In addition, they also get the services of Robin “Slow Mo” Palay and five super surprise rookies – Francis Tanchuan, Bryan Soler, Jeffrey Molino, Edward Grijaldo and Moses Davalsantos. (Ayaw mo ng rookies Miko?)

Will this team get enough scoring power to overcome the top seeded teams? Will they play a low-scoring game every week? Can Michael “The Dancing Loverboy” Legaspi shoulder most of scoring load (a typical ‘points’

guard like Allen Iverson)? Let see how the team gel in the following weeks.

Trend Micro Smart Surfing (Rank 6)

They’re in the bottom rank because of the injuries. The supposedly go-to-guy Christian “Do-it-all Guy” Nava, who topped the statistical chart last year together with his cousin Caloy Ocampo, injured both his feet. A rare case of basketball casualty, the team in Golden Yellow is playing with their back against the wall.

The team desperately needed reinforcement and so Monroe “No Drama” Paulino saved the day. Another shifter on the team is Jose “Mahal na Conde” Conde which makes an awesome backcourt “offensive” combination with Monroe. Valor “The Defensive Minister” Calour, one of the mainstay of this team, will provide toughness on defense.

Adding to their shiny color are Kris “3-point Master” Jocson, Jon “Bigman Stopper” Guevarra, Ralph “Pang Gulat” Golilat and Ericson “The Cool Guy” Villaluna. This will also be the year for Jamie “Badminton Guru” Cardinez, Juan Paolo Enriquez and Francis Aaron Fernandez.

Will this team prove they have the heart of a champion despite the setback? Can Christian “The Walking Dead” Nava recover in time? Will the shifters Monroe and JP provide spark on the team? Let’s see what determination can do this team.

That is all for now… As we step closer and closer in the Opening Day (this Saturday – June 30th), we would like to remind you that… Let us all give our best performances in every game. Let’s make LOVE not WAR and more importantly HAVE FUN!

This article is meant to entice, tempt, attract and invite all our fans from Consumer Department to come out and watch all our players’ gun for this year’s CSS Basketball Season 5. –JerameelB

Beware Noodle Lovers: Cooking Instant Noodles in a wrong way is very dangerous to your health.

•04/23/2012 • 6 Comments

Many of us find it convenient to just cook a packet of instant noodles when we are hungry. Here is a piece of information to share so that we can remove the potential health hazard of consuming such foods.

Maybe you should print this and pin it up in the kitchen or dining room as reminder or in your purse if you are always travelling. DO NOT IGNORE THIS …
Especially those fond of easy- to-cook Instant noodles.

WRONG WAY OF COOKING NOODLES:

Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot withwater, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it’s ready to eat. This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structure of the MSG, causing it to be toxic. The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coatedwith wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have eaten the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:

1. Boil the noodles in a pot of water.

2. Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3. Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot boiling water and then turn off the stove.

4. Only at this stage when the stove is off, and while the water is very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5. However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Dietician’s Note: If you buy plain hakka noodles which you make, you initially need to boil in water and discard the water. This will soften the noodles but to prevent it from sticking we need to add a tbsp of oil and also the noodles are deep fried partially to make them crunchy and then dusted with flour to prevent them from sticking while boiling. Hence when you buy the noodles they are already made unhealthy and plus they add MSG / Ajinomoto and otherchemical preservatives. A large number of patients with ages ranging from 18-24 years are ending up with pancreatitis either as a swelling or infection of the pancreas due to regular consumption of instant noodles… If the frequency is more than 3 times a week, then it is very hazardous.

Please do share this with your loved ones. Thanks and have a healthy eating instant noodles.

100 Things I Have Learned About Photography

•04/13/2012 • Leave a Comment

This is a re-blog and the following are the things that we learn about photography:

1. Just because someone has an expensive camera doesn’t mean that they’re a good photographer.
2. Always shoot in RAW. Always.
3. Prime lenses help you learn to be a better photographer.
4. Photo editing is an art in itself
5. The rule of thirds works 99% of the time.
6. Macro photography isn’t for everybody.
7. UV filters work just as well as lens caps.
8. Go outside and shoot photos rather than spending hours a day on photography forums.
9. Capture the beauty in the mundane and you have a winning photograph.
10. Film isn’t better than digital.
11. Digital isn’t better than film.
12. There is no “magic” camera or lens.
13. Better lenses don’t give you better photos.
14. Spend less time looking at other people’s work and more time shooting your own.
15. Don’t take your DSLR to parties.
16. Girls dig photographers.
17. Making your photos b/w doesn’t automatically make them “artsy”
18. People will always discredit your work if you tell them you “photoshop” your images. Rather, tell them that you process them in the “digital darkroom”.
19. You don’t need to take a photo of everything.
20. Have at least 2 backups of all your images. Like they say in war, two is one, one is none.
21. Ditch the neck strap and get a handstrap.
22. Get closer when taking your photos, they often turn out better.
23. Be a part of a scene while taking a photo; not a voyeur.
24. Taking a photo crouched often make your photos look more interesting.
25. Worry less about technical aspects and focus more on compositional aspects of photography.
26. Tape up any logos on your camera with black gaffers tape– it brings a lot less attention to you.
27. Always underexpose by 2/3rds of a stop when shooting in broad daylight.
28. The more photos you take, the better you get.
29. Don’t be afraid to take several photos of the same scene at different exposures, angles, or apertures.
30. Only show your best photos.
31. A point-and-shoot is still a camera.
32. Join an online photography forum.
33. Critique the works of others.
34. Think before you shoot.
35. A good photo shouldn’t require explanation (although background information often adds to an image). *
36. Alcohol and photography do not mix well.
37. Draw inspiration from other photographers but never worship them.
38. Grain is beautiful.
39. Ditch the photo backpack and get a messenger bag. It makes getting your lenses and camera a whole lot easier.
40. Simplicity is key.
41. The definition of photography is: “painting with light.” Use light in your favor.
42. Find your style of photography and stick with it.
43. Having a second monitor is the best thing ever for photo processing.
44. Silver EFEX pro is the best b/w converter.

58. Photos make great presents.
59. Taking photos of strangers is thrilling.
60. Candid>Posed.
61. Natural light is the best light.
62. 35mm (on full frame) is the best “walk-around” focal length.
63. Don’t be afraid to bump up your ISO when necessary.
64. You don’t need to always bring a tripod with you everywhere you go (hell, I don’t even own one).
65. It is always better to underexpose than overexpose.
66. Shooting photos of homeless people in an attempt to be “artsy” is exploitation.
67. You will find the best photo opportunities in the least likely situations.
68. Photos are always more interesting with the human element included.
69. You can’t “photoshop” bad images into good ones.
70. Nowadays everybody is a photographer.
71. You don’t need to fly to Paris to get good photos; the best photo opportunities are in your backyard.
72. People with DSLRS who shoot portraits with their grip pointed downwards look like morons.
73. Cameras as tools, not toys.
74. In terms of composition, photography and painting aren’t much different.
75. Photography isn’t a hobby- it’s a lifestyle.

85. Have fun while taking photos.
86. Never delete any of your photos.
87. Be respectful when taking photos of people or places.
88. When taking candid photos of people in the street, it is easier to use a wide-angle than a telephoto lens.
89. Travel and photography are the perfect pair.
90. Learn how to read a histogram.
91. A noisy photo is better than a blurry one.
92. Don’t be afraid to take photos in the rain.
93. Learn how to enjoy the moment, rather than relentlessly trying to capture the perfect picture of it.
94. Never take photos on an empty stomach.
95. You will discover a lot about yourself through your photography.
96. Never hoard your photographic insight- share it with the world.
97. Never stop taking photos
98. Photography is more than simply taking photos, it is a philosophy of life
99. Capture the decisive moment
100. Write your own list.

Health tip reshared: A must read about Car Air-Conditioning!!!

•03/18/2012 • 3 Comments

Please roll down the car windows to let out all the hot air  before turning on A/C.

WHY? Car Air-conditioning – No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before. We wonder where this stuff comes from but here is an example that explains a lot of the cancer causing incidents.

Many people are in their cars first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, 7 days a week.

As many read this, it makes us feel guilty and ill.

Please pass this on to as many people as possible.

Guess it’s not too late to make some changes Car A/C (Air Conditioning) MUST READ!!!

Please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car.

Open the windows after you enter your car and then turn ON the AC after a couple of minutes.

Here’s why: According to research, the car dashboard, seats and air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen – take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).

In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer. Can also cause miscarriage.
Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq. ft.

A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of
the toxin.  Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver.. What’s worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

So friends, please open the windows and door of your car – give time for interior to air out -dispel the deadly stuff – before you enter.

Thought: ‘When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.’

The Silent House (2010)

La Casa Muda (Original Title)

The plot is based on a true story that happened in the late 40’s in a small village in Uruguay.

The film focuses on Laura (Florencia Colucci) and her father Wilson (Gustavo Alonso) arrive at a cottage off the beaten path in order to repair it since its owner Nestor (Abel Tripaldi) will soon put the house on sale. They will spend the night there in order to start the repairs the following morning.

Effects of COLD WATER

•02/25/2012 • 2 Comments

If you like to drink cold water then you should read this article. It feels good to have a cup of cold drink after eating but cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you’ve just consumed. It slows down your digestion and once this sludge reacts with acid, it will then break down and the intestine will absorb it faster than the solid food. It will then line the intestine and very soon it will turn into fats and lead to cancer. The best thing to do after a meal is to drink warm water or hot soup.

Let’s Eat Pancit Maciang @ San Pedro, Laguna

•02/11/2012 • 5 Comments

Wednesday, February 7 of this year, I received a phone call from my high school friend and needs my I.T. expertise because his sister’s net book got infected with a virus and needs cleaning up.

Destination: Calendola, San Pedro, Laguna.

VIP (Very Important Pakman) lols

Since it was my rest day I said I can fix it for him, imagine if you’re going to a computer shop and have someone to fix it, it will cost you around Php 500- 700 pesos plus other charges including software and tools. Opps, that’s not the blog is all about, continue reading.

San Pedro Town Proper

That’s just one reason I wanted to visit his place. I also wanted to visit places that I haven’t gone before, try food, delicacies that I haven’t eaten. On this journey, my friend and his lovely wife treated me at a local Panciteria in town. We Filipinos love to eat “pancit – noodles” because it brings long life, remember our Chinese folks about this haha.

Visa Free Travel Destinations for Philippine Passport Holder

•02/07/2012 • 12 Comments
Travel while your still young, that is one of my motto. Just like everybody else me too are dreaming of traveling overseas as long as I’m still young and have the opportunity in doing so.
Upon learning blogs and articles about Visa Free for Pinoys over the web I feel like that dream is within reach. It really is because my brother Micvindelmer already toured Hongkong, Vietnam, Cambodia and other nearby Asian countries and did some of my co-workers.
The Philippine Tourism department also boosts tourism by unleashing their new slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines” and yours truly joined the bandwagon and re-blog some pictures and videos about it. I still don’t have a Philippine Passport but sooner or later I will get it baby. For now, I enjoy traveling locally and I want to go to places like Boracay, Palawan, Bohol or Cebu one day. With the help of my mountaineering friends, old friends and colleagues it will be a dream come true to me. 🙂

In line with this, I will re-post what I found on the web so that you too will be informed and start planning your vacation, travel abroad. On the blog that I read, it say’s that:

If you’re a Filipino and a holder of Philippine passport who likes traveling and exploring the beauty of the world, but hates the visa requirement to some countries, frown no more for you can still go to wonderful places without hassle-visa-appointments.

The list of countries below doesn’t require a visa for Filipinos prior to arrival.

Taal Volcano: View from Picnic Grove Tagaytay
Image via Wikipedia

Who is the GOAT NBA Player?

•01/25/2012 • 6 Comments

It’s been a debate in and out of basketball blogosphere who among Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant and Michael “His AirnessJordan  is the Greatest Of All Time Basketball Player.

This  is considerately been a topic not just on the Internet but it sport TV’s, sports radio stations, sports journal and news around the Globe. The comparison below will at least answer this but it depends on personal choice, check infographic below:

Interesting review can be seen on this link: http://epicasports.com/kobe-jordan-greatest-basketball-player-of-all-time/

So then who really IS the Greatest Basketball Player of all Time?

Unless we could reverse the hands of time placing Kobe and Michael head to head in the prime of their careers we will never truly know who is a better player? We all have different perspectives and ideas about each player whether good or bad.

Chances are, if you grew up in the 90’s watching Michael dominate the courts then you will probably be in the Michael Jordan camp. On the other hand if you grew up in the 2000’s you will more likely be rooting for Kobe Bryant. So who knows, perhaps this is an argument with-out a simple and definite solution.
What about you? What’s your point of view?

Funny: When Ramon Bautista Meets Manang Tindera in Ilocandia

•01/16/2012 • 1 Comment

What happens when a pure Ilocano meets a Tagalog speaking person and conversed?

My answer to this is, it’s a total lost in translation especially if they are talking about common words but with different meanings, haha, that is what exactly happens on the featured video clip below, watch Ramon Bautista talks to Manang Imelda Campaniano’s segment. Hope you enjoy it!

Me and the Pioneer Students of OLMC at Malacañang of the North, Ilocos Norte

I want to go back in Ilocos Norte or Ilocos Sur again, I’ve been there once and the experience is not quite good because we spent lots of hours in almost gas stations in Ilocandia when we have a trip to Malacanang of the North when we did a college field trip way back 2002. The culprit? Well, the minibus that take us there is not in the best condition and we met some errands.

Why not go back to Ilocandia? I have many friends there and accommodation will be free including food for the hungry haha but right now, all I can do is watch videos in YouTube about the places in the North, hear the song about Paoay (see clip below) and day dream haha. Enjoy watching!

Pwede? Let’s me know what you think by leaving a comment below. Thanks for staying on my tiny space here in the Internet and hope you visit my blog again.

Modus Operandi Alert: Passport Awareness at the Airport

•01/15/2012 • 1 Comment

Pasaporte

PASSPORT AWARENESS AT THE AIRPORT

Please be Careful at the Airports, This is a well organized conspiracy by Immigration, Police, Customs and Airline staff with networking at all International Airports. Be careful when ever you give your passport to Immigration/Customs/

Airline staff. The pass port can be easily tampered and can create trouble to you. They have found an easy way of making money. This is the way it works:At the time of the passenger’s departure, if the passenger is not looking at the officer while he is stamping the exit, the officer very cleverly tears away one of the page from the passport. When the passenger leaves the immigration counter, the case is reported on his computer terminal with full details. Now all over the country they have got full details of the passenger with Red Flag flashing on the Passport number entered by the departure immigration officer. They have made their money by doing above.

On arrival next time, he is interrogated.

Subject to the passenger’s period of stay abroad, his income and standing etc., the price to get rid of the problem is settled by the Police and Immigration people. If someone argues, his future is spoiled because there are always some innocent fellows who think the honesty is the basis of getting justice.

Please advise every passenger to be careful at the airports. Whenever they hand over the passport to the counters of Airlines or immigration or the customs, they must be vigilant, should not remove eyes from the passport even if the officer in front tries to divert their attention.

Also, please pass this information to all friends, media men and important politicians. Every month 20-30 cases are happening all over the world to rob the passenger the minute he lands.
A similar case happened with Aramco‘s Arifuddin in Pakistan . He was travelling with his family.
They had six passports. They got the visa of America and decided to go via Jeddah. When they reached the States, the page of the Americanvisa on his wife’s passport was missing. At the time of departure from Pakistan it was there, the whole family had to return helplessly. On arrival at Pakistan , they were caught by the police and now it is over 2 months, they are running after the Police, Immigration officers and the Courts. On going in to details with him, he found out the following: One cannot imagine, neither can believe, that the Immigration dept can play such a nasty game to harass the innocent passengers. All the airlines passengers must be aware of this conspiracy. Every month 15 to 20 cases are taking place, at each mentioned airport, of holding the passengers in the crime of tearing away the passport pages. On interviewing some of them, none of them was aware of what had happened. They don’t know why, when and who tore away the page from the middle of the passport. One can imagine the sufferings of such people at the hands of the immigration, police and the court procedures after that. The number of cases has increased in the last 2-3 years. People who are arriving at the immigration, they are questioned and their passports are being held and they have to go in for detailed interrogation. Obviously, the conspiracy started about 2 to 3 years ago, now the results are coming. Some of the Airline counter staff too is involved in this conspiracy.

Credits to the owner of the photo.

SO MAKE SURE NOT TO LET THE PASSPORT GO OFF YOUR SIGHT EVEN FOR A SECOND. THE IMMIGRATION COUNTERS ARE HIGH AND TIRED AND SHORT PASSENGERS REALLY HAVE TO WORK HARD TO KEEP THE PASSPORT IN SIGHT, SPEACIALLY AFTER THE EXHAUSTINGJOURNEY, EVERYONE WANTS TO GET OVER WITH THE AIRPORT FORMALITIES AND GO HOME. SO BEING VIGILANT FOR AN EXTRA MINUTE WILL SAVE YOU A LIFE TIME OF MISERY. BEST OF LUCK IN YOUR TRAVELS.KINDLY SEND THIS TO AS MANY OF YOUR INTENDING TRAVELLERS AND FRIENDS ACROSS THE WORLD REQUEST THEM TO CHECK THE PASSPORT AT THE CHECKING COUNTERS AND BEFORE LEAVING THE AIRPORT.

I think at least have a full photo copy of Passport and Keep scan of your passport in your Hard drive or flash memory and i will advise same for ticket also — with Gemma Gabuat Ursua.

This information will save lives of passengers. Spread the word and share! Act Now!
